Hope For Each New Day

The beautiful children of South Africa greet each day’s sunrise with a significant set of challenges. Many are orphans, having lost their parents to HIV and tuberculosis. Most live with the unrelenting struggles of severe poverty, including illness, dehydration, malnutrition and lack of supervision.

They’re quick to hold your hand or reach for a hug. They have large smiles, and their bright eyes beam with hope. They are God’s love.

At SAME, we are working hard to help those hopes and dreams come true. We have identified, established, and partnered with international organizations and individuals providing consistent and effective care to these orphans and vulnerable children.

What We Do

SAME is a registered international nonprofit organization founded in 2004, focusing on the needs of orphans and vulnerable children affected by the HIV/AIDS crisis in South Africa. Some of our areas of focus include:

• Training and wages to healthcare workers who provide medical assistance and HIV support in the communities
• Daily food and clothing for 50 OVC homes containing over 200 children
• Drop centers that provide daily meals to children
• Parasite treatment for seriously infected children and orphans
• HIV testing and counseling
• HIV/AIDS prevention counseling
• HIV treatment and support
• Formula for nursing mothers with HIV
• Palliative support for the terminally ill
• Transportation and hospital fees for desperately ill people
• Quarterly U.S. medical teams’ travel to support local SAME participants
• Assistance to daycare centers serving more than 200 preschool children
• Building maintenance program for the restoration of OVC homes
• Water filtration units to homes sourcing water from ground wells
• Monthly food parcels to 50 OVC homes
